I remember David as a kind, happy and gentle man, a good man for our community. My sadness is felt on his death for him and for his family's loss. Lauri was a good friend to my mother, I am greatful for all the goodness in the Leavy family.

I was so sad to hear this news. David was such a lovely, kind gentleman. The last time I met him was a couple of years ago in Beaumont Hospital when my husband was in the same ward and he was so friendly, just as I remember him when growing up in Palmerstown. We want to send Lauri, Linda, Paul, Alan and Family our sincere heartfelt condolences on the passing of David. I was a friend of David’s from our youth, met first when with our respective Scouts and Order of Malta. I also worked with David in the Granite pub, a long time ago it feels now. It is in recent times thru Facebook as we are living in Canada that I got to enjoy the banter/chat with David about life and what was going on in the world and of course Ireland. He was a connection with home that I will sadly miss, our love we send to you all at this sad time. RIP David.

Thinking of you all, at this sad time.

I was deeply shocked when I got the news of Dave's passing. I had only days before that been looking on his Facebook page for his latest comments which were always nice to see, especially his photos of his beloved dog! Dave was a true gentleman and one of life's "good eggs" as they say. I had the great privilege to know him when I worked for 12 years at the front desk in Order of Malta HQ Clyde Road and we had many a great chat at reception. You will be sadly missed Dave. My sincerest condolences to his Mum Lauri and his two sons. Rest in Peace.

To the family of Dave Leavy we wish to offer our sincerely condolence. We worked with Dave on various Order of Malta events. Dave was a very gentle and kind person, he will be sadly missed by all his friends in the Order of Malta. May he rest in peace.

I have so many fond and happy memories of Dave from various Order of Malta times, be it him teaching me how to properly pour a pint, his heroic (and sometimes hairbrained!) fundraising efforts, an epic weekend in Edinburgh doing duty at the Military Tattoo and so, so many great times in Lourdes. He will be so missed by many of us. I will miss his wit, warmth and generosity of spirit.
