It was with great sadness and shock that I learned of David's death, only today 21st March, when I walked into the lounge for a spot of lunch.
It seems like only days ago we debated the state of the economy and the dreadful March weather. His stories over the years and the books and photos he brought in to share with me will be memories I will treasure.
My condolences to all his Family at this sad time.

Dear Jim,
I was extremely sad to hear about your father today (through my friends at Christ Church via facebook!). I was so very glad to have caught up with him over this past summer - the first time I had visited dublin since I left 13 yrs ago. He was as pleasant, spry and "gentleman-ly" as I had remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sincerely,

Remembering a special man with love. A true gentleman in every way. x
David will be remembered with great affection by all the many, many Christ Church singers who relaxed in his glad company after services. A man of humour, charm and courtesy. We will miss him.
A kind and true gent. Since the day I arrived in Dublin, 14 years ago, to work at Christ Church Cathedral, David always had a friendly smile and welcoming hello every time I saw him. The Lord Edward won't be the same without him. David, may you rest in peace and rise in glory.
Sad news. David was a gentleman, a true landlord and a great friend to all of us in the cathedral choir.

so sorry to hear the sad news
David was such a gentleman and was so good to all the various singers who frequented the LEd over the years! He will be sadly missed.
