It is with great shock and sadness that I learned of David's passing. In my limited professional dealings with him, I found him to be a gentleman of wisdom, integrity and compassion. My sympathies to Jane, Riona and Lucia on your deep loss.

I am so sorry to hear of David’s untimely passing and I offer my deepest sympathy to Jane, Riona, Lucia and the extended Madden family. I met David through RoSPA IART when he was preparing for his Advanced Motorcycle Test and we travelled on many rideouts’ together. I always enjoyed his company. Rest easy David.

David attended a few events here at the FCJ Spirituality House and you both are remembered very fondly. We are remembering you all in our prayers as we gather here this week.

Sincere sympathy to David's family. RIP

I was so shocked and deeply saddened to hear of David’s death. We studied art togeather so many years ago in Sligo IT. Our paths crossed again in 2022 and it was so fascinating to see how our lives had unfolded in the 30 plus years since we last met. I was not surprised to hear he was such an advocate for women, and to hear about all of the amazing work he had done in his lifetime. We had some really lovely catch-ups and it didn’t surprise me to hear he was also still writing such amazing poetry. He was a gifted poet. He has impacted so many peoples lives and facilitated healing for so many people in his wise, calm steady, clear compassionate way. I remember once telling him about an interaction I had had with my own father where as a grown woman in her 40’s I had wept in my father’s lap while he spoke very wise words to me. David’s response was, “That is the kind of father I want to be for my girls, I want them to be able to come to me no matter how old they are”. His love for his daughters was immense and from how he spoke, his family were his whole world. To his wife Jane and daughters Riona & Lucia, I can not even imagine what you are going through. His loss to you all is immeasurable. I am so sorry. So deeply sorry.

It was a pleasure to have known David who was so generous and gentle with his time,care and great humour that he shared so freely, which l had the great fortune to share with David recently at an impromptu lunch meet up last Wednesday.

I am so very sorry to hear about David's passing. I feel very lucky to have met him at a training last February and was looking forward to hearing more about his passion for Moto Guzzi and his family in autumn. He was such a gentle yet solid presence, always ready to smile, crack a joke and share his knowledge as a therapist. He will be deeply missed by the whole group. Am so very sorry for your loss Jane, Riona and Lucia. I knew David professionally and he made such an impact on me and other colleagues. He had such integrity and was a very special, gentle soul. He was full of vitality and gave others permission to be as well. I know that David helped and brought healing to so many people through his work, many of whom were suffering for many years until they met David. He will be so very missed and remembered with love and gratitude.

Hey Jane, Riona and Lucia, Is trua liom do bhrish. I am heartbroken for you all. The last time I spoke to him was in April. We might not speak for months, but it always seemed like no time had passed since the last conversation. Never dull, always right into it. He always spoke of how proud he was of all of you ladies. We had quite a few adventures over the years together. I'm really going to miss him.

To those who personally knew David, I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

Although I did not have the privilege of knowing him directly, his work profoundly affected someone very dear to me. Through his care, they were able not only to survive, but to begin living again. The healing he made possible in their life is a testament to his skill, his compassion, and his unwavering presence in moments of unspeakable pain. I know that this is but one example among many.

David’s legacy endures in every life he helped reclaim, in every silence he helped transform into voice, and in every moment of safety and dignity he helped restore. The quiet strength of his labour, so often invisible, lives on in the resilience of those he supported through their hardest moments.

From a quiet distance, I am profoundly grateful for all that he gave, often in ways that may never have been fully visible. The depth of his contribution cannot be fully measured, but it continues to resonate in the lives of those who found hope through his work.

May his memory remain a source of strength, and may all who mourn him find solace in the lasting, life-affirming impact of his presence.

Very, very sorry to hear of David's passing and our condolences to Jane, Riona, Lucia and to David's extended family and friends.
