I was deeply saddened when I heard of Dave's passing . I got to know Dave really well when I minded Finn for a few years. Dave had a great sense of humour and we would have the craic and chats ( and maybe a gossip) when he would collect Finn.

We missed meeting Dave and the dogs on our walks as we often went at different times. However there were many occasions when I would be in the park and Finn would appear on his own having run off on Dave thinking he was still walking with us, we would laugh when Dave would suddenly appear saying he knew I was there as Finn would just take off on him. Even when Dave was trying to time his runs for training for the marathon he wouldn't ever get annoyed at Finn just laugh at him running away to join us . What an incredible amazing person he was you will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

I met Dave in 1998 when I started working in IBM. At that time, in his role as ATL, he was a mentor always available to help with the easiest and most difficult problems. We didn't even have to ask him - if he knew we were dealing with a difficult issue, he would come and check regularly on us, and with his remarkable professionalism and competence he would always find the right solution.

We learned so much from him - his knowledge and leadership skills were tools we could always rely on.

Dependable and supportive, he was a pillar of strength we could always lean on. We felt safe, no matter what happened, just because he was there.

He led by example - accountable, resilient, kind, confident, compassionate, with strong work ethics and integrity, out-of-the-box thinking and great ability to inspire and influence.

I always looked up to him - we all did.

He was a gentleman - he was kind and funny and always knew how to best support us. He always prioritised our well-being and mental health, appreciated and trusted us, and always went the extra mile to meet our needs, at times finding creative solutions.

Thank you, Dave, for always being there for us. You were our rock.

Thank you for leading us the way you did - your compassionate yet strong leadership style has inspired me, and -like me- so many more people.

I am deeply saddened to hear this news.

I remember when he did visit our team in PH he was newly hired before and he was handling our team, he was so nice and full of knowledge we never felt left out and he keep sharing interesting trivia's and facts about Ireland and some history. Dave was our manager in IBM and we have so many good memories of him. He was a person with a big heart who always believed in people, gave them a chance no matter what and support them all along. That's what he has done with us and we will always be grateful for that. It was a privilege to work with such a kind and generous person.
