Just heard of David's passing ...shocked an saddened...i remember David as a lovely lovely kind gentle and talented student and footballer..in my class in scoil mhuir many many years ago..currently abroad but would like to meet family on my return...if possible...David rests in peace,guys.

I knew David from about I was 8 to 19. I knew him only on the football field. We played hundreds even thousands of games together. I never knew him other than that. He was quiet, remote, all in the best sense of the words. "Unassuming" as someone else said... incredibly modest... I only learnt today from the priest of his boxing achievements. In sports you learn a lot about people, & on the football field David was truly classy. Never ever did I see him lose his temper, or care about winning, or attempt to humiliate an opponent that he was just better than. And this class was reflected in his wonderfully humble persona. I'll never forget him.
