I just heard about Dave's sad passing today. I have great memories working with him in 2018 for a drama show..

He had a great sense of humour and I will always be glad I got to spend some time with him.

RIP Dave , you will be missed!

I just heard about Dave’s passing today and I wanted to send my condolences to Evan, who I went to GCC with, and to all Dave’s family and friends.

Dave performed as Sheldon with Rebel City Drama Club in our production of ‘Love Me Tinder’ in 2018 and 2019. I have fond memories of us rehearsing amongst the crates upstairs in the Idle Hour! Dave was fantastic on-stage and off the stage, he was a lovely person with a great sense of humour. He brought so much to the group when he was with us.

So very sorry to learn of Dave's passing. A super nice guy with a great taste in music. The music scene in Cork will be all the poorer without Dave. He will be sorely missed! My sincere condolences to the O'Mahony family.

One month after getting this shocking, sad news, I still can't quite believe it. I hope Dave's amazing family gain some comfort from the outpouring of grief and love from his many friends during the beautiful farewell ceremonies you prepared. You will never be forgotten, dear Dave, Rest in Peace.

I have such lovely memories of Dave over many years, particularly of when, as kids, my siblings and I would come from Dublin to visit family in Meadowbrook and we all played together. He was always so kind to us and great fun.
He will be missed by so many. May he rest in peace.

I don’t remember a time before Dave. He was like a big brother to me. We grew up together in Meadowbrook. His smile, his voice, his jokes and his laughter fill my memories. We started a band together when Dave was the only one who knew how to play. He was always patient and encouraging when I hadn't a clue. We traveled together and shared an apartment together for a while. He was kind and talented. He was ferociously interested in music and art. I’ll miss his regular recommendations. He was so FUNNY. I’ll carry my love for him with me for the rest of my days. How lucky was I to grow up next to you Dave? Thanks for being my friend.

I got to know Dave since around 2017 when I moved to Cork. Whenever we met we would often talk long into the night about our many common interests. I had the pleasure of going to a gig with him in St Lukes which was full of laughter and good cheer - I have always looked back on that night fondly. He was a kind, generous, and extremely funny man.

Dave was a terrific friend of mine ever since our childhoods. We had some great laughs and adventures together over the years, and I was always in awe of his many talents. I'll miss him more than words could ever express. Farewell and thank you, Dave.

Another thoroughly decent chap is buried today.

He had some of the traits that I value most in a person. Dave was supportive of people, even if it wasn't something he was interested in.

He was enthusiastic... especially if you played music, he would make an effort to see or listen to you and he'd find the positives in whatever you were doing.

And most of all, he was simply a kind and sound gent of a guy.

R.I.P and you won't be forgotten Dave.

He was a man of love and pain, Davey. Life didn't know what to do with him, couldn't find a place for his neverendingly quirky mind. I wish I had told him how much he meant to me - his luminous highlighters, his awful puns, his gentle inquiries after my children. But we don't say things like that until it's too late. There was no one like him, a once off; I'm just grateful to have shared the road with him a little and proud that he was my friend.
