To Anne and Catherine, We were shocked and saddened to learn of David's passing this day last week. We can only imagine how heartbroken you both must be. I have very happy memories of time spent in David's company when we were members of Bective LTC. David was also a regular at house parties in 99 Upper Leeson Street. I remember David as great company, full of integrity and a real gentleman - although his competitive spirit on a tennis court did not go un-noticed! I have wonderful memories of serious and frivolous chats over the years. I always felt better after being in his company. He had a wonderful take on life and enjoyed it to the full. His love of family, and deep faith were very important to him and he helped many over the years . A scholar, a sportsman, and above all a gentleman.

Condolences to David’s family and friends. It’s such a sad loss and so, so early.
I was at Clongowes for 6 years with Sully and had the pleasure of sharing a room with him during 5th year. We spent many an afternoon kicking around a ball, and each other, playing ‘3 and in’ and such like. He was a true gentleman, as so many have noted. A calm, quiet and reassuring presence.
