To David's parents and siblings:-
The entire Howth Peninsula is grieving the untimely loss of David
We knew him briefly in Transition Year when he was singer with their teenage band 'The Vendredis' and he, along with the band, practised for hours in our attic (semi -detached house!)
Our hearts go out to you all...
at a time of unimaginable pain within your family...you & the priest all gave him a wonderful sendoff ceremony in Fintan's Church from which, despite the immense shock & grief, everyone benefitted.
The presence and support of the staff of EAST also spoke volumes.
Sincere condolences John, Liadain and all your family on the tragic passing of Dave. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
There's not much that I can say that hasn't already been said about Davie.
working with him in East are some of my fondest most ridiculous memories. He always knew how to snap me back from a total meltdown on a busy day and never failed to make me smile and laugh.

I'll always remember his cheeky smile and laugh, especially when he knows something you're about to find out !

Davie, you were a beautiful friend and man, I'm sorry it had been so long since I'd last seen you. You were my friend and you'll stay alive in my mind.

To the Plunkett family, I'm devastated for your loss, thank you for bringing such a joyous light into the lives of everyone he met.

I'll miss you always Davie <3
(P.s I always had a crush on you)
To John, Liadain, Rob, JJ, Lisa and all the Plunkett Family.
We are shocked and saddened to hear this sad news.
We offer our deepest condolences to you all on your great loss.
We are keeping you all in our thoughts at this difficult time.
RIP Dave, taken way too soon!
Having read all these wonderful memories John all I want to do, as a Dad, is give you a hug. Till we catch up again. D.
John, Liadain, Rob, JJ and Lisa. First and foremost I am utterly heartbroken for you all for your loss of Dave. And I’m so sorry I didn’t make it make it home to be there for you all.

Dave … where to begin. Biggest heart, biggest laugh, he radiated good energy and lit up a room.

I’m so happy we got to reconnect in Australia, a time I will cherish now.

I have so many great memories growing up with Dave and the all of the Plunkett’s. It started with drinking Cidona in the pubs as kids pretending it was bulmers, that holiday we all went on together and there was a near pool accident, parties in south hill when the real mischief could start…We had the best times and I was so happy our parents were best friends.

Rest easy Dave. I hope you feel all of this love. You are truly special. All my love , Treens xxxxxx
My heart is broken for the beautiful Plunkett family on the loss of Dave.My love also goes out to his huge circle of friends. Both family and friends just seem like some of the most fun, sound people which makes sense having known Dave as a colleague.

Dave worked for me at CarGurus and I can say that he was universally loved. You couldn't meet a nicer person and he was just the best craic. I remember during COVID how he checked in on everyone on the team and went out of his way to share meditation apps. He was so focused on ensuring everyone was coping with the stress, and really showed so much care and compassion for everyone on the team.

I attended the funeral and apologise that I didn't get to speak to you all in person. It is a measure of the man and the family that you sought to ease the pain for everyone in the room by honouring Dave with real laughter and joy.

I am also an animal lover and the stories of the seagull getting palliative care and the robo-cat will forever live on in my memory. And of course the snoring!

I can just tell you are such a gorgeous family and you don't deserve this. I read these lines by Donna Ashworth, the same poet who wrote the poem Aoibheann read out. "When someone larger than life leaves I think your life has to get a little bit larger in their honour."

I will try to honour Dave by continuing to love and save animals and trying to live a big life. Enormous love to you all.
I want to thank each and every one of you for your beautiful words and outpouring of love for Dave, our Family and his adored Friends. All your wonderful funny memories will be cherished forever!

Liadain ❤️

Heartfelt condolences to you John, Liadain and family. So saddenened to hear the news of David's passing. We pray only comfort for you all.
We are absolutely heartbroken about Dave.

I’ve so many memories of him — from holidays in Ios to him coming over for our wedding in Spain. He had this way about him that made everything more fun, especially with his love of messing. I’ll never forget the time myself and Richie spotted him walking through Sutton Cross wearing this mad red wig — proper bob-style, like something your auntie would wear — and when we rang him to ask what he was doing, he just went deadpan: “Wasn’t me.” And he stuck to that story for years, even though we saw him in it multiple times.

But one of the biggest things Dave gave me was a love for those weird, terrible, brilliant films he adored. He introduced me to The Realm, The Room, all those cult classics with the mad lines like, “They’re eating her… and then they’re going to eat me… oh my GOD!” or “It’s garbage day!” I honestly wouldn’t have ever even heard of them without him — and now I genuinely love that kind of thing. Not even because of the films themselves, but because he loved them so much, and his joy just rubbed off on you. Same with those ‘People Getting Owned’ videos — he'd send me clips of people falling over and just caption it “owned,” and it would always make me laugh.

But underneath all that, he was so thoughtful and kind. He was the first to text me when my kids were born. He always asked how they were doing, how we were all getting on. He cared. You always knew that with Dave.

We’ll miss him so much.
To Lisa , your mam and dad brothers and all your family deepest condolences on the sudden death of David.gone but not forgotten.

To John and family
My sincere condolences on the passing of your son David. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

May he R.I.P.
I was so shocked and saddened to hear the news of Dave’s sudden passing.

I got to know Dave back in the late 2000s. We were both doing a screen acting course in Dublin.

He was always a warm and kind guy, generous with laughter and more than happy to dole out a slagging. It’s a time, although brief, I remember fondly. Back then he struck me as a young man, like me, who was searching for his path. I do hope he managed to get a bit closer to it before being so unfairly taken away.

My deepest condolences to Rob, JJ, all the family and his many friends.
To John, Liadain, Rob, JJ and Lisa

I'm very sorry to hear of your unfathomable loss, John. A gang of us got together in the Summit recently, and it confirmed that the years don't break the bonds of a lifetime. Please accept my deepest condolences to you, your family, and also to Dave's very many friends.
So deeply sorry to read this news. My heartfelt condolences to the Plunkett family, friends of mine from my time growing up in 60s Sutton.
My love and thoughts go out to Liadain, John, Rob, JJ, Lisa, family and friends at this really difficult time.

I've many fond childhood memories of being in the Plunkett household with my cousin Brian, always full of warmth, love and craic. From swinging off ropes in Sutton Park woods, rollerblading in Ramp City to getting knocked out in a Thai boxing ring by Davie P in Phi Phi, there was always an adventure! Dave was definitely a unique character who lit up any situation. He was such a kind soul, always interested in people and would literally do anything for you. I honestly don't know anyone who didn't love the man. He always had your back. You could chat to him about anything and I wish I reached out more over the last few years.

Travelling Thailand with him for a month in 2015 was one of the best experiences of my life. He had us in stitches the whole time with his weird masks and constant pranks. He literally made the trip. Dave will be missed sorely by all who knew him but his stories (many of which I can't mentuon here) and memories will live on in us forever. Love and miss you mate, hopefully in another live we can travel somewhere together again.

Deepest condolences on the heartbreaking and far too soon loss of Dave. I had the pleasure of teaching him Geography in St. Fintan’s .
He was bright, curious, and always had that spark of mischief that made him so endearing. His good-natured devilment lit up the classroom and left us all smiling. He had a way of making the ordinary memorable.
