David’s warm welcome, big laughs and opinions shared in his unique way will be greatly missed. I enjoyed our conversations whether they be catching up on family, David’s latest CASA outing or Manchester United, David’s favourite team.

While David was inspirational in many ways and to many people, he was, to me, my cousin and always "one of the lads".

David, may you rest in peace.

Your cousin,

Kevin
Trasa, Seamus and all the family, I was so very sorry to hear about David. I have known David a long time in CASA and I can honestly say that I don't think I have ever met him in low spirits. He was such a jovial man, always in good form and up for a bit of banter, joining in with all around him through his smile, his laugh and his eyes. David had a warmth, a kindness and openness that made it very easy to be friends. I have missed him at the CASA Socials these past few months and he will be sadly missed now by so many more. It was a pleasure to meet and to know David all these years and may his gentle soul now rest in the peace of heaven.

Dear David, we spent four happy years together back in the days of the Day Activity Centre in the 90’s (we did loads of stuff, went spontaneously to loads of places and generally lived it up) and I can honestly say that I have held you in mind for the last 35 years. Your humour and twinkle in your eye made every interaction special with all you met. You rocked ice cream.
I came to CRC in Feb this year in the hope to have a catch up with you, with my son, whom I had told all about you, but unfortunately you weren’t in that day. I hear Jane passed on my best, fondest, regards to you and your dear Mum who, along with your family loved and cherished you.
You shaped my life in more ways you will ever know and I am grateful to have had the privilege to have spent those early years in your company. Rest in peace and know you touched the hearts of so so many people.
Love and happy memories to the family.

Dear Trasa, Seamus, Anna, Darren, Rebecca, Isabella and Zachary.
We were so shocked and broken hearted to hear that our pal David left this world last Monday evening.
David had a great sense of humour and loved to have a laugh and fun. He loved Man Utd and took well any slagging about them not winning, particularly in the last few years. He loved his rugby (Leinster) and his
He loved coming to CASA and meeting us all and had great friendships, in particular with Br. Oliver Brady OFM Cap.,RIP, who, since his death in 2019, David prayed to, with Trasa, every night.
David was always patient, kind, caring and a good friend. He also had a great ability to accept things and make the most of things. He was a very happy and content man, blessed with a great outlook on life despite all the challenges he faced.
That infectious smile and his lovely laugh lit up his whole face. He was a great communicator through his eyes and facial expressions and was always part of the chat at CASA events .
Trasa, Seamus and Anna - your care and love for David shines from you. He knew how loved and adored he was and how devoted you were to him.
Thanks David for all the lovely times we spent together and for your companionship and friendship. We love you, will miss you and will always remember you. Lots of love,

Dear Trasa, Seamus and Anna,

I am absolutely heartbroken to hear about David. I knew him through CASA and hung out a lot with him on many a Sunday, Weds or weekend away. What an extraordinary person he was. So clever, astute, kind beyond words but most of all, he had the best sense of humour. I will never forget the day the wheelchair fell out of the back of my car on the Howth Road at some speed and I thought I would have a heart attack with the worry that I had broken it. When I got it and myself back into the car, David was in stiches. He and I laughed for about 10 mins before I could drive off.

His smile and his twinkling eyes will never leave my memory.

Sending you (his wonderful family) lots of love.

Louise
