I’ve been lucky enough to have had David in my life since about my birth. He was an extremely funny man and a true gentleman, to say he will be sorely missed would be an understatement. Sympathies go to Linda, Olivia and Luke.

We are shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and volunteer, David.
David was a cherished part of Spinal Injuries Ireland for over a decade. He played a vital role in our activities programme for newly injured patients at the National Rehabilitation Hospital, driving our bus and ensuring patients could attend events and activities. He carried out this work with such charm, empathy, and good humour—brightening the day of everyone he met.
Whenever David came to the Resource Centre to collect the bus, he always made time for a cuppa and a chat, checking in with the team and lifting spirits. He was part of a wonderful group of volunteers who support our work, and the WhatsApp group was never short of friendly banter—often sparked by David’s wit and warmth.
To Lin, Olivia, and Luke: David was so proud of you all and truly valued being a family man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this incredibly difficult time.
David, may you rest in peace. You will be deeply missed.
