As I walked down the road
blue skies, sun shining, silence.
Daffodils still dancing and saluting gently in the hedgerow.
Birds singing and fluttering tenderly in the calm breeze.
The distant and subdued chatter began to fill the air.
The crowds had gathered, yet there was a gentle, calm and serene atmosphere.
There was an inner peace; one I secretly bestowed on David’s family.
The beautiful casket adorned with blossoms smoothly and eloquently passed.
My heart stopped, I stared, how unfair
A beautiful Man taken before his time.
Tears smoothly tipping from my cheeks absorbed into a feeling of empathy.
