My condolences to Whelan’s parents and extended family and friends and thank you for his lovely send off ,a reminder to keep in touch with old friends.Never one to be tied down with arrangements ,he was greeted by chants of “Wheelo”when he showed up ,and he always did.Whether cracking us all up with witty one liners or quiet daytime conversations solving the problems of the world ,his presence brought joy to all around him .Kind, sharp ,steady (mostly!),a loyal friend .They don’t make them like him anymore ,rest well Whelan ,you’ll be deeply missed x

So many memories but one that comes to mind is the time my Uncle Shawn Moran drove out onto the beach recreating a scene from a movie and only stopped a moment for David to hop out, grab his surfboard and run out into the waves. Truly one of my favorite people. Such laughs we had. Love you Aunt Liz and Uncle Brian. I'm so sorry.

I'll never for the first day I met David thirty something years ago, in his red leather jacket, psycho Billy fringe and suede creeper shoes, he was a character from day one and we had many laughs and adventures throughout our long friendship, hard to believe there will be no more. Although we lost touch over the years, I have only the fondest memories of him. We went to school together, and he introduced me to my friends. I shall always be grateful for this.
