My deepest sympathies to Marie and family. I worked for David when he was head of Corporate Planning at Billiton. May he Rest in Peace.
Dear Mrs. Whitehead. Please accept our deepest sympathy with your loss. David was a great person and an inspirational leader of the Billiton USA crew which I had the privilege to join in the early 80's. His wise and enthusiastic words will not be forgotten. So glad to have met you and David again in Denver earlier this year. Marc and Dinie Coolen, Lexington KY
David was an inspired mining businessman, talented geologist, mentor and most of all, a friend. My years at Billiton and thereafter have all been influenced by David's words and inspiration.
Marie, thank you for bringing him to Denver last year to be with all of us, his first Billiton crew. It was a very special night of stories, laughs and enjoyment.
Please accept our condolences and our love. You and your family are in our prayers, and David lives on in all of us by knowing him.

My deepest sympathy to Marie and all of David's family. David was a good friend and an inspiring mentor during our Billiton years. It was wonderful to see him in Denver this year. I will always cherish how he shared his incisive intelligence, his humor, his enthusiasm, and his always positive attitude. He will be greatly missed.
