The most lovely man, and a wonderful colleague. Dave organised several musical evenings in Carbury Church for the KH choir and instrumentalists, and we were treated like royalty, and always felt so appreciated. My deepest sympathy to Susan, Rachel, Sarah and families. May he rest in peace.

Dear Susan, Rachel, Sarah and family, so very sorry to hear this sad news.

I will always remember the excitement he showed over opening a shiny new instrument to measure forces with (he had of course made the previous one himself from the leg of a metal table!) and the relentless questions which he then endured from the class, and to which sometimes it would take three or four lessons for him to finally say “so that should now answer your question”

Thinking of the happy times together, growing up during primary school days.

He was an inspiration and our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.

Deepest Sympathy to the extended Clarke family on David's passing. I first met David as housemaster at KH in 1980. As mentioned in a previous condolence, I was thinking of the Geigner Counter in the Physics Lab in 1986 after the Chernoby disaster, which made physics relevant to daily life at the time. His methodical approach to problem solving was a firm grounding for future life. May He Rest Peacefully.

My sincere condolences to Susan, Rachel, Sarah and family. Dave was a wonderful, kind colleague with a ready smile. When I produced plays at the beginning of my teaching career, he took charge of the sets and was totally unflappable. Nothing was too much to ask, including making a reclining barber's chair for 'Sweeney Todd'!

A wonderful teacher and role model for teenagers who were lucky enough to be taught by him. Double physics on Monday afternoon got a boost in April 1986 after the Chernobyl nuclear accident; David had the Geiger counter out for weeks and tracked the nuclear cloud as it passed over Scandinavia. So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Stanley knew him as a student in Mountjoy School in 1960, then later when he taught our children in King's Hospital. As a parent and governor in KH Ruth knew him for over 30 years.
He never changed, he was always a perfect gentleman.
