Sad to hear of Debbie’s passing. She was one of the larger than life characters from my college days. I very much remember her positivity, energy and good humor. Debbie was so kind to me during my bereavement, and during my various illnesses. And she was so encouraging when, due to her gentle arm-twisting, I joined the committee.

I’m still reeling with shock at the loss of a friend, I remember her setting up the Irish Guild of Embroiderers and how she tirelessly worked in those early days. She was such a vibrant, enthusiastic needle woman who generously shared her knowledge both with the guild and the children she taught in school. She is a great loss to the textile world. Debbie was so inspirational and supportive person for her love of textiles and embroidery and to share her knowledge and skills! I was very sadded to hear about Debbie's sudden death. My sympathies are with Debbie's husband, family and friends.

Due to the global pandemic, I am stranded in new Zealand, as international flights all canceled. Safely with our family here, I am stitching daily and have time to remember Debbie fondly and with gratitude for all she did for the Irish guild of embroidery.

I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to Debbie’s family at her sudden passing. It is such a shock as she was always so full of life and plans. We were to travel to Paris with her on a textile tour in April which was canceled due to Covid 19. I enjoyed her company at guild meetings and at workshops. It is so sad we cannot be there for her family at this time. My she Rest In Peace.

Oh dear, what a surprised shock we got on hearing of our lovely friend's death. What a great lady, full of great ideas to help us all going forward in IGE, she was always thoughtful and kindly with us all. May you rest in peace Debbie.

Ní bhíonn caillteanas mór ann riamh gan saibhreas mór a bheith ann roimhe sin. (There is never great loss without a great richness preceding it.) In Debbie's case we will miss her warmth, her enthusiasm, her genial good humour at all times. As a colleague in the ICCS she was a joy to work with. We benefitted from her hospitality, her encouragement and her great organisational skills. Heartfelt condolences to Sandy, Brian, Alastair and the family.

I was so sad to hear the news that Debbie had passed away. I offer condolences on behalf of myself and Target Shooting Ireand. Debbie made such a wonderful contribution to the NTSA's High Performance development and International Competition participation. I met Debbie through the IGE. She was such an impressive, warm-hearted and enormously talented lady, generous with her time and encouraging to all. She was a fantastic organiser and wonderfully creative, but I'm guessing we don't know the half. I'm sure you will miss her enormously, and please know that many more of us will miss her too.
