Just heard about the passing of Deb from across the pond. From my time at the MI I came to know her solid science chops, and greatly appreciated her sarcastic wit and general good humor. Never appeared rattled regardless of whatever challenges the FHU and/or MEFSS faced and a great teammate. Sincere condolences to her family and friends, gone far too soon.

I wish you all the strength and comfort you need at this time. I spent a very happy year in Bordeaux with Debs during our studies there. May she rest in peace.

Keith, Will, Jack & family - I’m truly sorry for your loss. Debs was such a witty, smart, and upstanding character. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there last night or today to pay my respects as I’m battling flu at the moment, but watching on-line.... the service was beautiful, and the memories shared were incredibly heart-warming.

From the first time I met Debs through work, and every time thereafter, she was so friendly and easy to get on with. She certainly knew her work well and any meeting, event or project was the better for her contribution. Debs often spoke so fondly of her boys.

So sorry to hear of the very sad news about Debs. It has been a few years since we met, but you were such a remarkable person that you stayed in my thoughts.
Thanks to your guidance and patience, I became a scuba diver, then instructor, always keeping your advice in my mind.
Both you and Keith were a big part of the Flagship Scuba team way back, and we shared many a dive over weekends away.
My thoughts are with Keith, your sons and family, rest well.

My sincerest condolences to you Keith, Jack and Will. I first met Debs when I was seconded to the Marine Institute in Oranmore 22 years ago. She drove a HiAce van to NUIGalway on my last day to collect all my files and boxes of 'precious' histology blocks, which we worked on together over the following years. She was kindness itself to me as I intergrated in to the FHU team. She will be sorely missed.

So shocked to hear of Debs untimely passing. There are few words to say at this time. My heartfelt condolences to you Keith, and to Will and Jack and her extended family at this very sad time

I knew Deborah very well and we interacted frequently especially when I was Chairman of the Irish Shellfish Association but also in my capacity as MD of North West Shellfish in Donegal.
There are many examples I could give of great times together at home and abroad and how we got things done without fuss. Once she came to Mulroy Bay to collect scallop samples and came diving with me to get the samples, probably not in the book of recommendations with the MI.
Another when I met her along the road somewhere and gave her samples of scallops as you were all heading back from a weekend away or something in your camper van and I was heading in the opposite direction, this is probably 10> years ago, it was dark night but I remember the two boys being there.
My wife died suddenly 23 years ago and she knew that and we talked about family on every occasion.
She was such a wonderful person and you will all miss her so much, may she rest in peace.

Keith, we were so sorry to hear the very sad news about Debs. Our deepest sympathies to you, your two boys and extended family. May Debs rest in peace.

Shocked and heartbroken in equal measure. I first met Debs 25 years ago at her then future in laws. I came away from that meeting already knowing in my heart that my childhood bestie had met his match, his soulmate, the whole shooting match in fact.
Nature took over and sure enough 7 years later I had the honor of serving as best man at their wonderful wedding in Tuscany.
A formidible girl who understood living and life and who could find a psmile even in the most demanding of days. RIP She will be greatly missed by many. Xo
