Declan was one of the first people that I worked with when I joined ESB. He made me feel very welcome and would do anything for you. He was a true gentleman.
I shared many GAA stories and laughs with him. Declan had an infectious laugh that would have the whole room laughing along with him. We all missed him when he retired from the ESB.

Deepest of sympathies to all the Black family. I had the pleasure of knowing Declan from my time managing the St. Colmcille’s SNS football team. In the two years, Declan always had the pitch lined and goals out along with giving words of encouragement to the lads. It certainly worked as we never lost a game in Kilmainham during those two years! A true gentleman. RIP Declan.
