Declan Emerson

Our most sincere condolences on the passing of Declan. Please know that our thoughts are with you during this incredibly difficult time. May you find the strength and comfort needed to navigate through this loss.

I grew up with Declan in Fairview and Marino in the 70’s and 80’s and we hung around with a great group of people for many years, right into our married days. I met him last at Marian’s funeral and recall the occasion as a great celebration of her life. A good few of the gang got together with Declan that day and it was great to remember both Marian and the old days. I am deeply saddened to have learned of his death and will remember him as a great friend. My deepest condolences to his family.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of our friend and one of the original "Red Rockers", Declan.
A tremendous character, always with a big smile and some divilment, yet at the same time never backed down from cracking on to "get the day!"
It is a time that I will always remember fondly, we worked hard and played hard... and Declan was a big part of that.

So sad to hear of Declan’s passing, especially after losing Paul so recently. I have such great memories of hanging out with them on TV shoots (usually on long, cold, evening shoots) during which they always brought the banter and fun … deepest condolences to Declan’s family and all the Emerson’s. 💔

I’m so saddened to hear of Declan’s passing. We worked together on the road for many years and had great craic together. Declan was always good company, professional, thoughtful, and always referred to his loved ones as the benchmark of his life.
His sense of humour and mischief was always entertaining, I recall an incidence in London, we were returning from a very important meeting, (in a bar one night) we walked past a very expensive hotel where an unattended Bentley car, engine running, was parked. Declan said to me “let’s borrow it” to get to the very cheap dump we were staying in !!

I had the honour of working with Declan on Red Rock. To say he was a mentor to me would be an understatement. He taught me so much and I will be forever thankful for the time I spend with him.
