The untimely departure of this dear man has stretched across the Atlantic. Where he was well known , very loved and admired. By all of his extended family. He was as dear to me as his wife. My beautiful Auntie Noleen. He was always so gracious whether it was me and my brother camped up at his home or him visiting us with his guitar and endless songs and stories.
Later on I came to truly enjoy our private chats over a Guinness and his wise words that have stayed with me to this very day.
We are truly heartbroken over here. Our love and prayers go to my lovely four cousins, Aisling, Sinead, Ellie and Aiofe and his partner Lorna.
Rest In Peace Deco
— Sean Gannon
Aisling,

Our thoughts are with you and your family at this difficult time. We are so glad that you got to spend the last few months with your Dad and that you have a lifetime of memories to carry with you. We will treasure the fact that we got to spend some time with your Dad when he was in Australia, he was a lovely man and I'm sure he will be sadly missed by many. Rest in the comfort that he is at peace now and pain free.

Love and Hugs Zoe & Al xo

I had the pleasure and privilege to work with Declan in the POD, he was so witty and a great story teller and to this day we still say his favourite saying "You're very quick with the harsh word" he put up with me on the golf course threatening to make a golfer out of me, the sing songs and the craic. My deepest sympathy to his Girls and all his family. Our loss is heaven's gain. Peaceful sleep Declan x
— Fiona Carroll daa

Sincere sympathy to Lorna and Declan’s daughters. I’m Aisling, Rita and Eamonn O’Malleys daughter, we have never met but I know your dad and Lorna well from holidays in Portsalon. I am so sorry to hear about Declans passing and watched the funeral service yesterday which was very touching. Your dad told me this joke in Portsalon. He told a great joke, its a memory which sticks with me, it still makes me laugh x

Duck goes into a bar asks the bar man - have you any bread ?
Barman says we’re a Pub we don’t sell bread.
Next day day duck goes back into the pub - have you any bread ?
Barman- I already told you, we don’t sell bread. Get out and if you come in again I’ll nail your beak to the bar.
Next day duck goes into bar. Before he even has a chance to open his beak, Barman says, get out I already told you we don’t sell bread.
Duck says, hang on a sec you haven’t asked me what I want.
Barman - ok what do you want ?,
duck - do you sell nails ?.
