We were shocked to hear the news of Declan's death. No matter how much we console his beloved wife and daughters, only time will console them. I still remember how carefully he helped his daughters to eat their food when they had wet mehndi on their hands during Jen and Vidy's wedding here in India. He was a gentleman who treated everyone with affection. We will pay tribute to him by following his example and living as he did.

The news of Declan's death saddens me greatly. It is shocking because he was in good health. When I was visiting them in Cork, he learned that I was a vegetarian, and changed his scone receipe to omit egg. He was always kind and considerate. I feel like I have lost a brother.

We only learnt today (November 19th) of Declan's recent sad passing. Just heard from Aidan this morning of Decs passing.We were in Pres together and met recently at The O Keefe party.We had a great auld chat about our school days .Really shocked to hear.My condolences to Ann and all the family.May he rest in peace.

Terribly sorry to hear of Declan’s passing. We worked together on a project in Jeddah around 2010. The happiest memories of my time there were evening trips on the weekend to join a running group in the desert. Followed by a chat by the fire and some of his home made wine. He was a true gentleman.

Dear Ann, Jennifer, Lorna and Emer,
I was so sorry to hear about the loss of your lovely husband and Dad. I had the pleasure of working with, and being taught by Declan in Fehily Timoney and Co. Declan was so smart and funny as you well know and very kind and generous with his time and knowledge. He would walk around the office always ready to ‘engineer’ something with as many gadgets as he could fit in the top pocket of his shirt including but not limited to calculator, pens, scale rule, pens and glasses case. His shirt pocket dragging down under the weight. He was always calm, quietly spoken, eager to help and ready to back me up. I’d like to think that everyone that worked with him might have learned from his example and carry a little bit of him with us in our careers. I still sign off letters in his style! I was there in the days of Upper Dec and Lower Dec, named for their respective heights. On weekend projects pushes with Emer doing her colouring alongside us in the office. All lovely memories of him. It’s with great regret that I hadn’t seen him in several years and I can only imagine the loss of such a gentleman to you all, your families and his grandchildren.

Ann, Lorna , Jennifer, Eimear. Your families and extended families. The loss of Declan to you goes beyond words I can express. But at his goodbye mass yesterday the power of this great man was so present. The words you spoke and maybe didn’t get to speak, spoke volumes to the Husband and Dad that many would aspire to be. The tentacles that he wove through every aspect of his life testament to the gentleman in him. While I suspect he would be saying ah sop… his heart would be bursting with pride. Declan fly high on those angel wings they were well earned. As for Ann and your family, I wish you the strength and courage to cope with the days weeks and months ahead. He certainly left us all with memories that will help us remember him with fondness.

So sorry to hear the unexpected loss of Declan. He was a true gentleman and always in great form when I met him out on my delivery the last couple years in inniscarra. Condolences to Ann and extended family my thoughts are with ye at this difficult time
