I was deeply saddened to hear of Declan's passing. He was a pleasure to work with in CORU, always laughing, had a great sense of humour and always willing to lend a helping hand in times of need. Thankfully I got to watch the beautiful mass online this morning down here in Dublin for Declan, I was so sad to hear he passed away, on the hard days I hope you all feel, and know how much he touched so many peoples life’s in such lovely ways in work and with his friendships, I am so grateful I got to work along side Declan back in the day with ATA, he really was one of a kind kinda guy, a true gentleman, so helpful, really generous with his time and knowledge and so approachable, always wearing that smile and went the extra mile, he liked to head out for a morning cuppa with his pal Mark Fogarty their 15 min break often turned into an hour chatting, he loved all his family and talk of you and home often, the sky will look, shine and sparkle that bit extra special when we look up from now on, May his good soul rest in peace.

One of life's true gentlemen. I had the pleasure of working with Declan for many years in ATA. We started out not long apart back in 2001. I have great memories of that time and the craic we had on jobs together. Declan had a great sense of humour and was always up for a laugh! No matter how busy he was he always had time to lend a hand and I learnt a huge amount from him. Without a doubt one of the best engineers I got to work with! We were so sad to hear of Declan’s passing. He worked with CORU for over 3 years and was always very helpful and obliging - nothing was every too much trouble for him. When I see him in my mind’s eye, he has a smile, as he was always in good form and great company, as well as a wonderful IT Manager, who helped people like me who would tend to be technically challenged. After he left CORU and during Covid I would occasionally meet him around Smithfield, as he’d often pop into Infinity Building for a chat with Dean at the front door. and he was enjoying his new role, always great company. He was very proud of his Donegal roots and talked proudly of his family and of Deborah and I know he was thrilled with the arrival of baby Sarah. A tragic loss for his family and close friends. Our thoughts and prayers with you all at this difficult time. We will always remember him with great warmth in CORU.
