I am so sad to hear about Deirdre Ann. I clicked with her from the first time we met in work. She inspired me to try yoga and was such a positive person. I will miss this wonderful lady. My condolences to Kev.

Shocked to hear the sad news of Deirdre-Ann's illness and demise. We were colleagues for many years in the noughties, she was always fun, friendly and helpful and happy to share her knowledge and information. We lost touch in recent years but when we did meet up it was clear she was very happy in her life and work. My condolences to Kevin, her family and friends on her loss.

My sincere sympathy to Deirdre Ann's husband Kevin and extended family on such a way too early departure from this life.Deirdre had such a joyful presence and was always so pleasant to meet/talk to. She helped me no end getting started on a work related course Q4 2024 and was so supportive and generous with her time. Even over a short few years and just a few work related social gatherings she put people so much at ease and was so humorous and witty - she left an indelible mark and will be forever remembered and treasured in all our hearts. I worked with Deirdre Ann since she joined the OPW. She always had a hello for me & we would have quick chats, she hinted at being an Arsenal fan which always made me smile. I brought her on to site for one of our projects and it was great to share the project with her.

Deepest sympathy to Deirdre Ann's husband, Kevin and extended family. I only spoke with Deirdre Ann by phone and email during her time in the Minister's Office in OPW but she was a lovely person to work with. May happy memories console you at this sad time.

It is with great sadness that I have learned of Deirdré-Ann's passing. We worked together for a short while in the Minister's Office of the OPW and Dierdré-Ann was always full of cheer and enthusiasm and always very compassionate towards all of her colleagues. Even after she left the Office she was interested in how we were all doing and always had kind encouragement for all of us.
She will be dearly missed by everyone in the OPW and beyond.

It’s not always the loudest people who leave the biggest space behind. Sometimes it’s the ones who simply showed up — who listened, remembered, quietly gave their time without needing thanks. That’s the kind of person Deirdre-Ann was.
She had a quiet way of letting people know they mattered — never forgotten, never overlooked. Whether it was a small gesture, a message out of the blue, or just knowing the right moment to reach out — it always felt sincere. She paid attention. And you felt it. It was the kind of care you never had to ask for — she just gave it, because that’s who she was.
Kev, the love between you was clear to anyone who saw you together — it said everything without needing words. You were a team, and the strength and care you gave through it all was something truly special.
Thank you, Deirdre-Ann, for the love, the time, and all the little things.
You will be deeply missed — for your kindness, your heart, and the way you made people feel.

You gave her just to me—

You had a way of loving me

You were there for every moment,

Words cannot express our sadness at the passing of Deirdre Ann. She was such an extraordinary kind lady who always had a smile on her face. Deirdre Ann bore her illness with great courage and dignity. Kevin, you were her strength and protector through it all and the love you had for each other was testimony to who you are. I pray Deirdre Ann gets the softest pillow in Heaven. Probably up there now organising everything and making the Angels laugh with her infectious humour. Fly high dear friend and I know the Lord has given you the crown you truly won. I only knew Deirdre Ann for a short time in the workplace and speaking with her was always a highlight of the day - a ready wit, utterly unflappable and always on top of the situation. She was a great example to us all.
