I was heartbroken to learn of Deirdre's death. My memories of Deirdre are of a lovely smiling friendly girl - and of Eileen being so very proud of her and rightly so! My deepest sympathies to Eileen and to James and their children.

Deirdre was such a courageous,lovely person. I grew very fond of her,and looked forward to seeing her each morning-she had such a positive outlook. I was delighted to see her so well, on her last visit to us. I am so sad to hear the news. i just know your memories of her will carry you through.

It was my honour and privilege to have Deirdre as a friend during our UCD years. We laughed together so much.
