Some people come into your life and unexpectedly touch your heart.
Deirdre joined our team at work in 2016, soon after I’d joined myself, and I realised that she had the kindest heart, the sweetest nature and proved to be such a joy to work with.
Unassuming, self-effacing, in a world of colourful egos Deirdre exuded gentle, modest strength, intelligence and warmth. Never a bad word to say about anyone or anything, she dealt with everything thrown at her. Always calm, positive, and so very gentle. I can hear her voice now.
We often talked of our children as they grew up - Roisin & Niamh were similar ages to my two - and she’d share her excitement and immense pride for them as they experienced each milestone.
As they now have to navigate life without her, may God guide them with the embrace of their wonderful mother’s gentle warmth and love. She will live on within them always. At this most difficult of times, my heart and sincerest condolences go out to them, and Nathan, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Christmas Do, and to her mother and sisters and extended family. Thank you so much for letting us attend the funeral, from afar. It means a great deal to be allowed to join you in Deirdre's final send-off.
Deirdre will be very sorely missed but never forgotten.
I feel truly honoured to have known her. The gentlest of souls who touched the hearts of those she met. May she rest in eternal peace.

I got to meet Deridre occasionally when she came to our Limerick office and she was always the very same, a gentle, kind colleague who would stop for a moment to check in on people. She meant an awful lot to many people here that she either managed or trained over the years.
