Deirdre was a lovely colleague and always very interested in her students. My condolences to you all. May she rest in peace.
My deepest sympathyto you Conor ( and the rest of your family) on the death of your Mum,Deirdre. She and I were colleagues in the High School for many years.Indeed , after our retirements, you kindly collected me and drove us to several functions.I was very pleased that she joined the Wicklow Branch of the RSTA. She later acted as President of the Branch for at least a year and she was avery good one too.I only heard of your Mum's passing this morning. I am thinking of you all at this sad time. I was so sorry to hear of Deirdre’s death. When I started teaching in High School in the early 1990s, Deirdre was very welcoming and supportive. Later when we worked together on Transition Year, when she was TY coordinator, she was always so ready to help me and give very useful advice.
Two of our children are now studying Art in High School. She built a strong department which continues on.
I remember fondly our TY school trips to Glendalough when we passed near her much loved Avondale and her stories of Parnell.
Deirdre always spoke so proudly of her children and all you were doing. My sympathies to you all on this great loss.
Claire (Ritchie) and Emmett, Saoirse, James and Daniel Reilly, High school
