Deirdre was a wonderful person. Her happy persona and infectious charm was greatly appreciated by all her friends in the energy industry. She will be sadly missed and may she rest in peace.

I still remember the laughter and the fun times we had, when I first met her, in the cast of ‘Blossom Time’ Opera, a joint St Eunan’s and Loreto production in 1977. Smiles and laughter seemed to come naturally to her always too. And that never seemed to change over the years. May she rest in peace.

Deirdre’s charm was up there with the best of them, so the side wouldn’t be let down here; and yes, dizzy heights were routinely scaled. But for all that there was never a word of an enduring challenge and this just about sums up the girl – an honest soldier fought the good fight.

The occasion of Donnell’s baptism is now a bitter sweet memory and hopefully the funny side will invite a wee giggle – our Anglo Irish script writers could be busy with a typically Donegal impromptu that brought out the best in everyone and she’d be proud!

My heartfelt condolences to all of Deirdre's family and friends, especially her children Emmeline and Donnell .I grew up in Letterkenny with Deirdre in the 70's and 80's and our friendship continued in the decades that followed. Deirdre's piercing smile and laugh was always a treat for the soul. I am so saddened to hear of her repose. Deirdre never lost her Donegal charm even though she lived in London for most of her adult life. Sending her family and friends a massive comfort hug filled with love.

My sympathies to all the family. Deirdre was always so full of life and fun. I’ll always remember that cheeky grin. So sad that she passed so soon. A good woman. May she rest in peace.
