Kevin, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Deirdre’s sudden death. She was a warm and magnificent women who was talented in so many areas-acting, journalism, broadcasting, writing (in many forms), public service and especially connecting with people and making friends. I always enjoyed her company and loved her straight-talking, no bull-#%*t attitude to life. I am very sorry for your loss. Sending sympathies to you, Adrian, Simon and all her family. Very sad to hear of Deirdre's passing. Apart from her wonderful talent, she was so supportive when I was the new boy in the radio centre. Will always remember fondly our theatre interval chats. Thinking today of Kevin and family.

Sincere condolences to all who mourn Deirdre. I attended Gortnor abbey in the 80s after Deirdre’s time there and I was always very proud of the fact we attended the same school. I always felt she was a happy confident lady may she rest in peace.

A light has gone out in our lives. Deirdre was a true and generous friend. Last September we had a long lunch in her local Relish, sitting over the beach in the sunshine and putting the world to rights. A memory I shall always treasure.
A lovely mass this morning - Adrian you said it all. A lovely lady.

To Deirdre’s family my condolences , Having watched your lovely tributes I would like to add that my late sister died in almost identical circumstances when aged 70. So hard to absorb that so much can happen so quickly. God bless. TF.
