My heartfelt condolences to Delma's family and loved ones. I was truly saddened to learn of Delma's passing. I cherish the wonderful memories I have from our time working together at Stanhope Street. Delma was a ray of sunshine, a vibrant character whose smile could brighten any room. She was not only a naturally gifted teacher but also an incredible colleague, bringing joy and a sense of fun to everything she did.

She will be deeply missed. RIP Delma.

I was very lucky to be a colleague of Delma's for over twenty years in Stanhope Street. Over that time she inspired me by her wonderful interaction with the children. She had a unique way of narrating little encounters with them. She truly cared about them, about her colleagues and about the larger Stanhope Street Community. Sincere condolences to all of Delma's family on your sad loss. She was such a lady- kind, warm and glamorous. Before I decided to do my B.Ed in teaching, Delma offered for me to spend a day in her class of Senior Infants in Stanhope St, to see if I'd like it ( which I did!) She was amazing with the children- so caring and dedicated but also so thoroughly invested in each and every one of them. She got great craic out of all the little characters and it was a joy and inspiration to see her in action. They were very lucky to have had her as their teacher and supporter. Also a wonderful friend to Sheila, Alan and Marty over the years. She will be very missed- may she rest in peace

A very sad day for us all. To say goodbye to someone as special as Delma. The funniest, glamorous, most talented person ever. Our great times together with the silliness & laughter that always ensued as we recounted all the great times we had together. Gran McCann will welcome you with open arms as will so many of our family members who have gone before you. There will be some stories in heaven to be told. Our loss is definitely their gain.

Delma, I will always remember the warmth of your smile and the sound of your little giggle that would light up any room. I can still hear you calling me "Bobert" in that special way you did, and it will forever bring a smile to my face.
That name goes back to when my brother and I wandered off in Dunne Stores as toddlers, and we helped ourselves to some yogurt. When you found us and we looked up at you, my brother pointed to me and said, "Bobert did it!" From that moment, I became Bobert, and it always felt like a little bond we shared.
Its hard being so far away in Australia at times like this.
Thank you for being such a wonderful presence in all our lives. Rest in peace, dear Aunty.❤️
