Condolences to all of Denis's family & friends at this sad time. I was so very fortunate to have had Denis in my life as a leader I looked up to . He had a very positive influence on me as a young boy. Denis instilled in me the value of common sense. May he rest in peace

I have very fond memories of Denis in Kildalton and he enjoyed Kildalton hugely. Denis was a fatherly figure and always willing to give very very sound advice and he enjoyed the banter with all.

A gentleman of the highest order, a superb educator -- I laughed when I saw others reminisce of the technical drawing classes -- a rare man who engendered both warmth and respect. My sincere condolences to all of Denis’s family and friends. I have fond memories of technical drawing classes back in the 80s in Mooncoin, with Denis's words of wisdom and encouragement while we all beavered away constructing ellipses. Years later, I recounted a story to Denis of how we used some of his teaching to solve an ellipse problem on a project in Douglas Harbour, Denis had a pep in his step after that story. Rest in peace, Denis, I am forever grateful.
