I am deeply saddened to hear about Denis’s passing. I first met Denis in 1993 on the set of Circle of Friends, where he guided me through my role in what was a significant movie of its time. Denis was not only warm and friendly but also incredibly passionate about the film industry.

As one of the first employees of Ardmore Studios in 1958, Denis later established a rigging company within the studio. His office, where we shared many enjoyable conversations, was a shrine to the numerous films he worked on, including Ryan’s Daughter, The Bridge over the River Kwai, and Out of Africa.

Denis’s legacy and dedication to the film industry will undoubtedly live on through his family members who continue to work in the sector. My heartfelt condolences go out to his extended family and friends. He was truly one of the good ones.
