He was our postman in Bantry for a long time during the 1990s. He used to call in to Bantry Garden Centre for his morning coffee I knew his daughter Collette and his son in law Mark I also knew his wife Margo when she worked in Bantry Library. He told me alright that he had cancer when we were in Alcoholics Anonymous together I am so sorry he died big kind hearted friend.

It is with great sadness that I learned of the passing of this very amicable man . Denis was a renowned sportsman in the best of sporting traditions -full of the Corinthian spirit.He will be particularly missed by me and all who had the good fortune of knowing him well . I send my condolences to his great friend Harry also Denis and Kevin. I want to especially acknowledge the great deeds done for him by Eileen and her husband Michael - their kindness to Denis was immeasurable.May the Angels speed you into Paradise old friend . I will remember you with special fondness
