DENIS DENNEHY

I was very sorry to read of Denis’s passing. I remember him well and will always recall his outgoing, friendly nature and the warmth he brought to those around him. My sincerest sympathy to his brother Aidan, a former school friend, the wider family, his partner and Denis’s large circle of friends. He will be remembered with great fondness and affection.

My condolences to Nicola, John and all the Dennehy family. I was very saddened to hear of Denis's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Denis many years ago, we car pooled together and he was always great company, may he rest in peace.

Carrigtwohill GAA Club was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Denis Dennehy. We extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Nicola, John, Aidan, Billy, Orla and all of the extended Dennehy family.

Denis played at underage and adult level with Carrig. He was on the U16 team that won the East Cork ‘B’ Football Championship in 1983, scoring a goal in the final against Castlelyons. In 1985, Denis was the goalkeeper on the U21 team that won the club’s first ever A grade football championship at that level. He also played in goal for the junior A footballers.

Off the field, Denis was great at general knowledge. He was on the Carrigtwohill Youth Club team that made it to the All-Ireland final of Top Club, a national table quiz competition. It is well remembered that he was incredibly fast on the buzzer for the quick-fire rounds of questions.
