Denis was an absolute gentleman and so respected and liked by all his Drogheda Independent colleagues . Many chats were had with him on sporting topics from my time working there and beyond. I was so saddened to hear about Dennis today. He was such a kind soul, and I feel truly lucky to have known him. Being far from home and without my parents, seeing the two of you together always reminded me of them and brought me comfort. I hope you can find some peace in the beautiful memories you shared with him.
He will be deeply missed.

Very sorry to hear of Denis's death. He was a valued colleague in the Drogheda Independent/Argus and was always kind and helpful to me when I was a novice at the job.
He was a lovely man, and I enjoyed working with him.
Unfortunately I missed his funeral Mass as I was on holiday but send my sincere sympathy to his family.
