Dear Ro, Evelyn and family,

My Sincere sympathy to all the extended Donohue family on the sad passing of Denis.He was a former Captain and member of the CBS Portlaoise Past Pupils Golf Society.He played for a long number of years with his two brothers Joe and Eugene and ejoyed their two outings to Mountrath and the Heath every year.His name is on the Captains board in the new Secondary School on the Borris Road and he was very proud of that.After a break of a number of years the Society is up and running again.It is now the John Duggan Memorial Cup.It continues to honour the memory of John who was a highly respected teacher. On behalf of all our members of our Society we would like to send our deepest sympathy to all the family. May Denis rest in everlasting peace

Thank you Denis and Rosemarie for being such special parents in law. Our first meeting was in a restaurant in London. Your adored son Ronan was planning to introduce you to his new girlfriend. He was held up at work so I thought I would take a risk and go it alone! From that first moment, you were wonderfully warm and inviting and it was the start of an over 20 year relationship that has seen us travel and spend many happy ocasions together. You extended that love and support to our beautiful children and I can still hear Rosemarie whooping with joy when we all arrived at 27 Woodbine with Denis right behind her, arms outstretched, always with a warm welcoming embrace. That’s how we will best remember you both, a warm happy landing place for all of us. May you both rest in glorious peace and love. Always, your loving daughter-in-law, Evelyn

I am so incredibly lucky to have had a grandad as kind, caring, funny and considerate as you.
