Joan, Orla & family. I was so sad to hear of Denis' passing, when I returned from recent holiday.
He was such a good friend and colleague, generous to a fault! Sheila and I send sincere condolences to you all.

My condolences to the Fitzpatrick family on the passing of Denis. He was my boss when I became a permanent member of IDA in the Grant Payments Dept. He was a great mentor and manager and had a great smile and laugh. Always so calm, even in difficult situations. I was very fortunate to work with him in my early days. May he Rest in peace.

We have many great memories of Denis, one of the best and nicest gentleman you could ever meet, but my funniest was when we were playing golf with two other great friends in Edmonstown and Denis and myself were playing together. We were well ahead on the 9th hole and for fun we asked our opposition how many tablets a day they were on. They were on none and between us we were on well over 25 a day. Denis suggested they needed to get on the tablets and they might match us.

My uncle Denis was an absolute gentleman. I only have good memories of Denis from growing up. Our holidays in Wexford and all our Christmas get togethers. To getting to know Denis as a man as I got older. Such a wonderful fella. Devastating news.
