It was with great sadness that I learned of Denis’s passing. I first met Denis in 1980 when I was a member of the Management Committee of Mitchelstown Coop. For a period we were both members of the Irish Dairy Board (Ornua). As a member of ERAD, the animal disease board I was particularly impressed with his skill in chairing the organisation during a very difficult period. I will always have great memories of the many meetings where Denis played a very constructive and balanced approach to difficult issues. He was a true gentleman. I wish to convey my sincerest sympathy to Noreen and all the family.
