So sorry to hear today of Denis passing. Sympathy to his sisters. And extended family. So lovely to read the condolences from his many friends.

We were both part of the Cork contingent in Rockwell College back in the late 60s.

Sincere condolances shared with Denis's Family and Friends on his sad passing. Denis a true gentle man with a great wit, turn of phrase and sincerity. Met Denis for the first time in Vernon Mount circa 1980 when competing in the Reggie Tilson Navigation Rally, the story he spun about Reggie loosing his false teeth and navigating to retrieve them was a a classic. Thank you Denis for sharing your sincerity, wit, skills and friendship. Rest easy now Denis.

Met Denis Over fifty years ago in Vernon Mount and became great friends with him and he navigated for me on a number of rallies He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and always willing to help out. Deepest sympathies to Denis's sisters on your sad loss. I have many happy memories of Denis on Car Rallies from Vernon Mount and in the Motor Arms on a Friday after work. I so sorry that he had such a long illness which I was unaware of. May he rest in peace.

You were my dearest friend for nearly 20 years and my travel companion for many of those early years. We spent many happy days touring West Cork, racing around the small roads like we were on one of your rallies! When I moved out of Cork 10 years ago we sort of lost touch, only meeting up on a few occasions. I am so sorry that I did not make the effort to come to see you in Mahon - it was always "I will try to come next month". But next month never arrives. The last time we met, you had made the effort to come out to Macroom despite your illness.

I will miss you Denis. You enriched my life by being in it. Rest in peace, you will never be forgotten my very dear friend.

i got to know Denis as a new member when I joined the Munster Motor Cycle and Car Club Ltd Vernon Mount back in 1972..Denis was always a great staunch member who was always supporting and working for our sport .A great club member and a real gemtleman.It was my pleasure to have known Denis and been a colleague and club member along side him
His presence will be sadly missed..

Sincere condolonces to Denis's family on his death. He fought the good fight and is now released from suffering. I first met him in Vernon Mount in 1970 and later in UCC where we were doing the same course. We kept in touch over the years through business and interest in rallies albeit less frequently in recent years. I called to see him a few weeks ago and found him in great spirits defying adversity. We reminisced about the first running of the Ballinadee stage in the Cork 20 of 1974. The pair of us had been delegated the job of setting it up from PR visits to the running it on the day which we gave us great enjoyment as young lads. RIP Denis, my old friend and friend of older days. God rest your noble soul.
