Dennis Brendan Mulvihill

I send my deepest sympathy to Brendan’s family and friends. He was such a gift in my life traveling to Maine for concerts in our home and giving lessons to local fiddlers. I loved his generosity and brilliant musicianship. As our friend Patsy Whelan said early on, he has so much emotion in his bow! Thank you for sharing yourself with us dear Brendan. Sending love and wishing comfort for those who miss him so much.

Sending our sincerest sympathies to Brendon’s family and friends. Brendan and the Irish Tradition played at our wedding in Washington DC in 1977. We had a Celi for our reception and their music filled the hall with joy and happiness.

My condolences for Ciara and Clara and for all Brendan’s family for their loss.

How I remember Brendan and Brian Gaffney playing at Nanny O’Brien’s Pub, back in the day. And years later, I met musicians in Scotland who knew of Brendan’s music and playing. He was highly regarded by them.

A tragic passing. We first heard Brendan when he played at a small lounge ( The Orient Lounge) in Antigonish Nova Scotia MANY years ago. The lounge, despite its remote location hosted many great musicians. Brendan among the finest The bar closing at 2:00 am was no deterrent to continued playing until exhaustion set in for all present.

I’m so sorry to learn of Brendan’s passing. My sincere condolences to his family, to all his friends and fellow musicians, and to the community there in Glin. Brendan kindly introduced me to the old guard of amazing fiddlers in New York back in our youth, and then he was one of the greats himself. Just an amazing player. God bless, Brendan.

Had never met him before but when he sidled in the door of John B's, carrying his fiddle, tall and distinguished looking in black, I knew someone great had come to town.
