I just got word here in Boston of Denny's passing. I let out a shout. As young yanks we would always return to the village to my uncle Pat's. As youngsters we were awed by Denny. For the last several years we would return to the area and I always looked forward to sitting on the bench with him. I had already been looking forward to it for this year. It will indeed be a sad bench this year. God Bless. Gene O'Shea

Denny was such a fixture on the way to the Conor Pass; always a returned wave and a look of curiosity. We chatted a few times and he was always gracious. He gave me a wonderful portrait once which I'd like to share with the family. If the gallery is open in Castle this year, we will have it ready for you. May you Rest in Peace Denny.

I'm sorry to hear about Denny's passing, he was a character that I got to know personally during my time working in Castlegregory.

I didn’t know Dinny personally but I know he was a cousin of the O Sheas of Stradbally my late grandmother Margaret, Madge O Shea who married my late grandfather Johnny Horgan, but I know a face tells a thousand stories and looking at Dinny” s face all good stories and I would say good ones and I would say they’re is a bit of rogue in him I believe he was a local legend.
