We met Derek at Des and Josephine Burtons 50th Wedding Anniversary for the first time - he left a wonderful impression on us both as he was in our company for the meal.

More often than not, the best and most remarkable people we meet are also some of the humblest and that was Derek - we offer our condolences to Alison his sons and daughters and also Joe Brendan and Des.

Our sincere condolences for the loss of your dear huband, father and grandad Derek, from all at the D&DMCC.

Derek won many Championships in the 70's and 80's, he had a natural skill on a trials bike, which was matched with his competitive nature and determination, he was a role model for many of the young and older riders.
Derek maintained his interest in trials over the years and was often seen out at events, right up until recently, where he loved to catch up with everyone and support Michael.

He will be sadly missed, but not forgotten.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Derek's passing. We shared memorable times at Brendans' in Bray, bonding over our mutual interest in the motor trade—a passion that shaped both our careers. Though our paths crossed only occasionally and it has been many years since we last spoke, the news of his loss brings back fond memories of our youth. My heartfelt condolences go out to Derek's family and friends during this difficult time.
