Derek Nolan

Derek was a gentleman and like another brother to my mom Shellagh. He will be sorely missed. Thinking of you all.

Deepest sympathy to the Nolan family.

In 1994, Mr Nolan thought our English class and I've fond memories of him.

One day, he was discussing the poem "Raglan Road" by Patrick Kavanagh. He outlined that it was made into a beautiful song and he couldn't hide his fondness for it.

With an air of North Mon student mischief, one of the other pupils asked Mr. Nolan if he could give a rendition of the song.

At first, Mr Nolan declined but with further encouragement, and to all our amazement in the class, he promptly obliged in giving a beautiful rendition which is etched in my memory.

I have lovely memories of Mr Nolan whilst growing up in Clanrickard Est and my husband,Steve also has good memories of Mr Nolan and his family on a school tour to Germany.
We are thinkng of you all.

Above all he was a devoted husband and father to his adoring family who were always his top priority. I valued his friendship for sixty plus years and enjoyed his company during those years
