My deepest condolences to all of Derek's family, wife Barbara and his children on his passing. I knew Derek from school and always thought he was a very lovely person. My thoughts are with you at this very sad time.

My deepest condolences for your loss. I knew Derek a long time ago. Spent 3 years in his class in secondary school and was in play school with him as a child. He was always a gentleman and such a kind soul. Thinking of his family at this time.

I am deeply sorry for your loss, may God provide you strength to get through. I knew Derek briefly from OOCL, and was very saddened to hear of his sudden passing. I'll miss his U2, and soccer comments on Facebook. He was always a joy.

Words cannot express how shocked I was to hear the news of Derek's passing . I worked with him in the Grange and a nicer man you could not meet . Honoured to have considered him a friend . My thoughts and prayers are with you Barbara and the children .

I knew Derek for many years from childhood. He was a true gent, a lovely person. He really will be missed. Thoughts are with his wife and children.

I knew Derek through his time working for OOCL. To say I am shocked and saddened at his passing is an understatement, as it will be for everyone. A true gent and a lovely man, warmest condolences to Barbara and the children - words are never enough at times like these. Your husband and father was a fine man, may he rest In peace .

Remember Derek as a nice kid growing up in monkstown farm with his Mam Greta and grandparents so sad to see such a lovely lad go so soon my thoughts are with his young family at this sad time may Derek R I P.
