I haven’t seen Dermot since he and his brother Joseph left St. Joseph’s Cabra after primary school in 1983. Dermot was my classmate and a boarder for a few years. To Joseph and your family. I am so sorry to hear the passing of Dermot so near Christmas. Reading the notice I gather he was sick for sometime. From James Marnane Ballysimon Limerick and past pupil of St Joseph's for Deaf Boys, Cabra Dublin.

To all the Ahern family and especially Joe, I only checked rip.ie just now and saw Dermot's notice. He had the most beautiful mischievous smile and without a shadow of a doubt there was the most wonderful welcome for him when he arrived up to St. Peter. We’ll all be praying to him. May he rest in peace.
