My sympathy to you all at the loss of a true gentleman. I knew Dermot mainly through golf, but I will always remember his great support and kindness to us when my wife Nuala was ill. He was a survivor and his encouragement was really appreciated. May his gentle soul rest in peace

I have a treasure trove of wonderful memories of shared Inter Bank teams, our sporting and social escapades, holidays and family weddings. I was pleased to have the opportunity to meet my old friend Dermot for lunch in Westport in mid October. He was in his usual cheerful form and we enjoyed a chat reminiscing on our early days in the bank in Dublin. We shared a keen interest in sport, playing in interbank competitions, with some success and a lot of fun. We joined the bank together in the middle of the last century and we shared a joint retirement party forty years later. Rest In Peace dear friend.
