My condolences to all of Dermot's family, but particularly Mary Rose. I knew Dermot, we had a mutual friend, and I'd meet him every now and then: a sensitive and creative man, I'm very sorry I won't meet him again. Rest in peace.

I was very sorry to read this sad news about Dermot who I remember well and with fond memories from school. I am thinking of Dermot and all his family at this sad time.

I first met Dermot when we both worked in Saudi, and caught up with him when he visited me and my newborn baby a couple of years later. He held her with the gentleness which was so much part of his lovely nature. Life did not always treat him with a similar gentleness but when we last spoke a few months ago I was reminded that the same Dermot was still there. I only heard of his passing this evening, too late to attend his Mass. But I would like to express condolences to all Dermot's family, and to all who loved him, of whom there are many. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

I was with Dermot in UCD in the early 80s and we kept in touch ever since. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Rest easy, my friend.

I am sorry to hear of Dermot’s passing ,Dermot’s life enjoyed Theatre acting writing swimming drinking Languages he loved San Sebastián and I shall miss my old Friend Dermot .Sleep well Dermot x Neil

I was saddened to hear of Dermot’s Death but it was mixed with a tinge of relief as Dermot had fought a long Battle with his Addiction.I remember Dermot’s love of Stage ,Theatre acting writing swimming language and San Sebastián I hope you find peace my Old Friend XNeil

Paddy, Catherine, Dermot had been a great support to my brother Philip for a good number of years and they both kept each other going through life’s ups and downs. May they now enjoy a happy reunion and my uncle Alan Mowbray will be saddened to hear of Dermot’s passing. I recall bumping into Dermot along Camden street a few years back and to chat with him was always a pleasure. Take care and hope the fond memories give you some comfort at this time. David
