Had the pleasure of knowing Dermot through playing Hurling and Football with him when he and Nicky came to play with Whitehall Colmcille. Agree with all those who said he was a GENTLEMAN. As a player he was the best reader of a game and had a unique ability to bring team mates into the game. Unfortunately much as i would like to attend his funeral due to circumstances beyond my control it's impossible. May the light of Heaven Shine On His Gentle Soul. R.I.P Dermot Maura and Frank Berry

Dermot was a great footballer and hurler with Whitehall Gaels, played also for Dublin. He was a very intelligent player and very helpful to us younger lads by setting up easy scores for us.

Sorry to hear Mr.Dempsey has passed.
Always remember him as being so friendly and he was always at the football matches Alan played, standing in the background away from the limelight.
The house was always full of warmth with Alan & Peter showing football & into their music.

Saddened to here of Dermot's sudden passing. He was my first Football manager with George Colgan at St.James's Gate F.C. Always remember him with a cigarette in hand as he gave instructions from the line, win lose or draw Dermot always had a great and positive attitude, my sincere condolences to the Family.
