We often met Derry with his dog(s) walking on the Promenade at Clontarf when we were walking our dog(s). He was always in good form and loved to chat. He seemed to know a bit about everything and it was a pleasure to meet him and Hilary – and Max. Our sincere condolences to Hilary, Laura, Theresa, and the extended Mulcahy family on the loss of one of nature's true gentle men. Suaimhneas síoraí air.
My sincerre sympathy to Derry's family and friends. I worked with Derry many years ago and he was always a true gentleman. Rest in Peace Derry.
So sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time.
Emotional and Heartfelt sympathy to Hilary, Theresa & Laura, sister Maeve, Barry and Louis and brother Bobby.
Thinking of Derry brings to mind, one of a kind, a kind, jovial character with a twinkle in his eye. A mind full of knowledge and history. A raconteur to whom we listened, with glee. He added joy to us and all those fortunate to meet and know him. Having an E-boat since 1997 gave us the gateway into his world. We met his sister Maeve and family, Hilary and family and over club and committe members.
Derry sailed with great enthusiasm, and helped the E-Boats develop into a great fleet that has survived the many years since.
So it is with deep "Emotion" we wave a fond fairwell, fair winds and fair sailing. Hope to meet again beyond the horizon.
Codhladh sábh a chara dhíl,
From All the Denham family,
Ann and John Denham
So sorry to hear of Derry’s passing. As others have said, one of life’s real gentlemen who always had a smile and a good word to say. Thinking of you Hillo, Tee and Laura. May Derry Rest In Peace.
The Commodore, Executive Committee, Members and Staff of Clontarf Yacht & Boat Club extend their deepest sympathy to the Mulcahy Family on Derry's passing. Derry was a very active club member, he made a huge contribution to the club and served as Commodore and President. He was the driving force behind the development of E-boat class in the club which continues to thrive to this day.

CY&BC has lost a great member and friend.

Fair Winds Derry.
My heartfelt condolences to Hillary, Teresa and Laura on Derry's passing. May the love you shared comfort you in your sad loss. RIP Derry.
As Chair of the Irish E-Boat Association and on behalf of all Skerries E-Boat sailors, I would like to extend our deepest condolences to Derry's family on his sad passing. Derry was one of the founding members of the E-Boat fleet in Ireland, having brought the first E-Boat into Clontarf all those years ago. He raced and sailed his E-Boat in local and faraway places, promoting the E-Boat fleet as he travelled. Thanks to his efforts there is now a thriving E-Boat community in CY&BC and Skerries, with close comraderie and racing between the two clubs. His contribution to the promotion of the E-Boat fleet in this country was invaluable. Derry's seafaring spirit will remain forever with us all in the E-Boat fleet.
My deepest condolences to you Hillary and all the family. I only met Derry a handful of times but remember him as a lovely kind person. May he rest in eternal peace.
I was very saddened to hear about Derry's passing. Although it's been a while since we were in touch, I have very fond memories of all our adventures on the Irish sea, especially those famous trips to the Isle of Man over 40 years ago. Derry just had a amazing personality. He would support you through thick and thin. I will miss his friendship a lot. So much more one could say about a very good friend. My deepest sympathy to Hillary, Theresa, and Laura at this difficult time. My condolences also to all his relatives and close friends.

Sincere condolences to Hilary, Theresa, Laura, Maeve and family. Derry, you introduced me to sailing in 1980 and the rest, as they say is history! So many tales and near disasters and hilarious holidays and incidents which would take a month to tell. You have been one of my most cherished friends in all that time and I always knew that I could trust you implicitly if I ever needed help or advice. We have laughed and drank well together. Our horse and dog racing ventures were unbelievable and so brilliant and something I will cherish forever! May you Rest in peace Mullers!
