My condolences to all the Donohue family. I didn't know Dermot long but in the fortunate time I spent with Him, He inspired me with his positive energy, good humour and kindness. May He be held in the light and love of the Universe.

Only just heard this sad and shocking news today. I've many happy memories of our time in the Art class in the Regional, from tossing the wall to create the darkroom to the many hours spent experimenting with techniques and laughing over the results. Always a kind and funny person, taken away far too soon. My sincere sympathies are with his wife and family.

We were very saddened to hear of Dermot's passing. As a fellow professional photographer we spent many fruitful and happy times together some years ago. He was a great photographer and wonderful company. Just one memory is a special evening we spent together in Letterkenny at a Waterboys concert. We talked photography and listened to great music, a perfect evening.

Dermot did our family portrait about 15 years ago , its a great memory of him for us now. One of the many great days I shared with him over the years as a photographer and musician and all around sound man.

Deepest condolences to you Julian and all the Donohue family. Your Dad was such an affable, mild mannered gent with a great sense of humour. One of my earliest memories is of him trying to bribe me with a box of toys in exchange for a smile and a pose. That photo is still on our wall 35 years later, with the many others he has taken. May he rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to Dermot's family on his passing. Dermot was a gentleman in every sense of the word. I had the pleasure of working with him as he took the student's year group photographs every year since 1980 and perhaps before that. His last shoot was the day the school closed because of covid and he just about managed to get the photographs done before the school went into lockdown. He finished up with the 6th years saying thanks and how it was a privilege to have worked with them for the 6 yrs. Well Dermot, it was indeed our privilege and honour to have worked with you over all the years. Your epitaph will remain on the walls of St. Eunan's College.
