Dear Mrs Kitty Earley, Mrs Mary Earley and Family,
I offer you all, my sympathy and the support of my prayers for Dermot. He has been in my prayers since it was announced that there was concern for his health. I was sorry that I was not able to attend a Mass for him in Gorthaganny about a five weeks ago. May he rest in peace and may God comfort you all in your great loss and sadness.
Sincerely, Martin Jennings.
P.S. I have great memories of his dad Peadar, (RIP) too, especially attending the many Colleges football games that Dermot played and starred in for St. Nathys from 1960 to 1966. Dermot was a wonderful captain and player of the Connacht Colleges Juvenile (1963) and Junior (1965) Champions. His trainer and coach, Fr. Tom Lynch had unbounded admiration for him as player and a student. He was my classroom and dormitory prefect 1964-1965, and he was held in the highest regard by all students of that era. I have passed on the sad news to Jim Colleran, (in USA) his basketball coach. He also excelled in basketball and rarely if ever was he on a beaten team from from 1963 until he left in June 1965.

Sorry to hear of the death of Dermot, a sad loss to his family, and all those who knew him as a great G.A.A. man ,a true gentleman. May he rest in Peace. God be with you Dermot.
Deepest Sympathy of the passing of a wonderful person. Always felt that Dermot had been part of our lives since his days in Nathy's. So many battles on the football fields are remembered, but my fondest memory of Dermot was hearing him speak at a function in Galway just over a year ago. So much said in such a short time. Far too young to go, but a life accomplished and lived to the full. May his gentle soul rest in peace and watch over you his family from now on. RIP.
Deepest sympathy to the Earley family on the sad death of Dermot who gave a powerful speech at the opening of the O'Carolan Harp Festival in Keadue last August.
even though I never met you. I saw you playing on the television and you were one of those gaa players that should have won an all Ireland medal.

Dermot - Your name was very much part of my teenage years growing up in Galway and loving football and the great rivalry and respect between our beloved counties. May you rest in peace with all the other greats.
My memory of Dermot was his Handshake a solid grip. Always interested in his native Gorthaganny, time for young, old and disabled. He will be missed sorely by us all. My heart goes out to his family on this sad day. May you rest in peace Dermot - a true Irishman
On behalf of Castlerea St. Kevin's G.A.A. Club I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to the Earley family on their huge loss. Roscommon people world wide can be proud of this great ambassador in the GAA circles both with his local club and the leadership shown by him when playing on the county team.
