Dermot Kelly

Sincere condolences to Pauline and family. I met Dermot only a few months ago and I found it hard to believe that he has passed. We have great memories of working with Dermot in Galway prior to moving to Clonmel. I also remember a trip to Ayr and Aguadilla in the early 80's where we had a trip of a lifetime. He was a true gentleman. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.

I was very sad to hear about Dermot's passing. My heartfelt condolences to Pauline, Elaine, Declan, David, and to Dermot's grandchildren and extended family. I knew Dermot not only from GCF but also as a workmate at APC (we were on the same team). Since I left Galway, I only saw Dermot occasionally but I will always remember with fondness Dermot's sense of humour, his easy laugh, and cheerful disposition. My time at APC was sometimes difficult but Dermot was always there to listen and to give moral support and advice. I admired his impressive knowledge of Scripture and I know that he has gone as a faithful servant to meet his Saviour, having fought the good fight.

Just thought i would share this lovely story with you from about thirteen years ago.

I meet Dermot many years ago whilst visiting a patient at Merlin Park hospital as far as I can recall he himself was a patient there at the time.
Dermot had a great smile always and was a very fine
conversationalist witty,fun, informative and helpful with an easy out going nature and loved life to the full.
This great energy he had for life and the great love he so evidently had for his family was awesome.
He will surely be missed with out doubt by his loving family whom he spoke so fondly off.

Bed of heaven to you dermot.

Pauline, we never meet but
dermot is at peace now and i am sure he will look out for you from above with a nice song to brighten your days - yourself with beautiful memories that will never fade.

During four years in Galway, we had no better friend or source of encouragement than Dermot. In the few times we've visited since 2010, a highlight has always been dinner with Dermot, Pauline, John, Philamena, Brian, Imelda, Phil, and Kathleen. It's hard to imagine Dermot not being at that table, telling jokes in his inimitable style. It's also hard to imagine how much he will be missed by his family and many friends. We give thanks for the life of Dermot Kelly. But I'm glad Dermot is not only in our past; he is also in our future. Thanks be to God, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
